Acne Scar Removal

Acne Scars form if acne becomes infected and the skin repairs itself enough to remain healthy however leaves discoloured and / or indented marks on the affected area, they can be very difficult and expensive to treat.
Many treatments for acne scars can be bought over the counter ranging from creams to micro needling. Creams or skin masks are the most commonly used for treating acne scarring which can (but not always) work but take quite a while for the results to begin to show as a huge percentage of creams are not absorbed by the skin. Creams are, therefore, wasted and so are not economical.
Another treatment that can be bought to treat acne scars is the derma roller. This is a tool for skin needling; you simply roll the collagen roller over the effected area of skin which opens the pores of your epidermis (top layer of skin) causing it to believe that it is damaged triggering the production of collagen and elastin which eventually heals the damaged skin.
Once the derma roller has been used the pores on the top layer of skin (epidermis) are enlarged for as long as so this is the best time to apply creams as they are much better absorbed when the pores are open as opposed to when the pores are closed. This reduces the waste in creams and heightens the effectiveness of the derma roller.
There are more extreme methods to reduce acne scars however these are all expensive and must be carried out by professionals and then they’re not even guaranteed to work! These include; Micro dermabrasion, laser treatments, chemical peals and also skin needling can be done by a professional more vigorously using a longer needle size and numbing cream.
In my experience in acne scar removal I have found that the most result effective and cost effective treatment is derma rolling at home as it is relatively cheap and as it works by inducing the healing process is the most natural way to heal acne scars.
