Increasing your traffic using Twitter for your company
Filed Under General | Leave a Comment
The 140 character whiz kid know as Twitter has fashioned quite a buzz this year with a army of authority figures using Twitter on their video casts , and marketing experts telling us we can leverage Twitter to create hundreds of followers , the interest in Twitter is at a record peak . You probably have friends and work colleagues on Twitter and you’ve most likely had Twitter invites from your leading suppliers . And that last point is what I want to mention today . What are YOU doing about it for yourself?
Twitter doesn’t look like it will disappear any time soon. In the meantime some are jumping on the band wagon, while others sit in the sidelines bemused.
But however you approach your Twitter strategy and there’s a great FREE training video about that at http://www.TrafficHug.com/twittervideo/ but whatever you do, you should be doing something. The smallest benefit will be extra chances for impressions , ideally with some way of people finding you by your keyword, or your name. It could be embarrassing if potential customers search for you and your competitor , or a cyber squatter, have beaten you to your own profile.
We have other articles on getting targeted traffic, but let’s look at something we can do today A right now We’ll take a more detailed look at conversion tactics but first let’s explore a quick and easy option.
Some business owners think of Twitter traffic as stemming from Twitter internally . A concept most Twitter directories encourage . But in the real Twitter , the advantages of having your regular traffic join you on Twitter are plentiful . So enormous that we need to do something about it now .
The easiest thing is to add a Twitter “badge” to your web properties . It’s simply a graphic showing who you are on Twitter with a link to your Twitter profile. In the videos I mentioned earlier , you’ll discover a lot more , but we’ll stick to just the badge for now .
WHERE CAN I GET MY BADGE ?
You can get your own customised Twitter badge for zilcho from the following website ;
http://wwwTwitterHug.com/twitter/category/badge/ – FollowMe Twitter Badge .
You just paste the HTML it provides in to your page .
It also works on WordPress blogs. I’ve added one on all of my own blogs.
The Twitter badge is supplied in its own HTML tags so should exist fine almost anywhere.
You can create an HTML table or div layer to house it, then you can just paste the code in verbatim . With WYSIWYG html editors, there is usually an HTML “object” box you can place in the desired location and just place the code in to that. Adobe Dreamweaver users can just insert an AP Layer (from the insert menu) and then paste the code in to that using the HTML code view pane.
The benefits of promoting your Twitter profile from your regular web properties as I said are huge and yet it is something most Twitter users do not use. You will discover organic search benefits (SEO) of linking (it’s not reciprocal, see video) as well as “people” benefits. Wear your Twitter badge with joy.
